Task 23. Feedback about the program

I did enjoy this program. I am happy that I had an opportunity to focus on my personal and professional development, learning Web 2.0 tools. I think it is only beginning for me, I will go back to many tools to improve what I've learned already. In my opinion, principles of Library 2.0 are to put users in touch with information and entertainment wherever they may be.
Blogs and Wikis nice tools for socialising. Librarians can create blogs for communication with different user groups. Google Talk, it is another communication tool. I think library can use this tool as part of their online reference suit to offer users more ways to reach them. I like Library Thing tool, you can get recommendation about books. You Tube we can use as a marketing technique for promoting our services. I think, Google Scholar is wonderful tool for research.

Task 22 Exploring various web based communication tools

At home I am using Skype and It is fantastic , you can talk to person from another country and it cost you nothing only Internet access, and I have camera at my computer so we can see each other. But if the person who you want to contact doesn't have a computer, anyway you can contact him using Skype and it cost you a little.

Now about Google Talk, I think it can be very useful tool for reference queries. I signed in to Google Talk and added Google Talk widget to my Google account an to my Blog.

Task 21. Find and listen to a Podcast

I signed up to Podcast.com and choosed 'FOX News Radio', than I pasted URL to Box 'Add subscribtion' on my Google reader. Now I can listen FOX News.

Task 20. Watch You Tube videos

I looked around You Tube and found many videos about library staff. Some of them interesting.

About task 19.

I decided to add picture of my nephew with his lovely dog on Pet's page. It seems for me it looks OK.

Task 19 Put a photo of your pet on the wiki.

I found a photo of my nephew with his dog, resized this photo, logged into VU Wikibrary, and decided to create my own page, i named this page '23 things' and inserted this photo.

Task 18 . Sharing mine Library 2.0 esperience.

I love Encore, new Web 2.0 interface to library catalogue and I love Library Thing, which allows to catalogue your own titles and find people with similar reading tastes. Sometimes for students and teachers it is useful to know what kind of reading is good to prepare for some tasks, so people can make comments.I think it is a good way for book recommendation. Google Docs it is a good way of sharing your document with other people. Blogs are very good way for communication. On blogs people can publish news, events and discussions. I think, this new technology like Library 2.o makes library more accessible for users.

It was quite simple to create my personal web page and I love it now. I love how it looks and how I can use it. It's very good that you can organise all useful google's tools on one page and you can always change your preferences. I designed this page in my way, I added recommended gadgets and added Worldcat search gadget, useful box to search books. If I will find something interesting I can always to add it to my personal web page. Thank you 23 Things for introducing for me this new technology.

Task 15. Google Book Search and Google Scholar

I love this option to search books and articles.
I found 'The Missing Manual' by Sara Milstein, the book that covers almost all features of Google. I think it makes sense to have this book on my bookshelf.
I was looking for another book to my interest and found it.
Using Google scholar,I found some articles which our students asking for.

I know how to share calendar and using templates from Google docs now.
I tried to do it, it works.

I posted some comments to my blog, using Google Docs.

So, I am learning new technology.

It's fun and not so hard. And when you reach your goal you've got a satisfaction.

I have new friends on Facebook, they are sharing their knowledge with me it's good.

I think it is good.
If you need to go to new place it will give you visual information about this place and mail direction will help you to choose the best way to get there.

I created Link List on my blog, where you can find some videos with jokes about libraries.

I subscribed to digg.com through my feed reader.
I thing it is a good idea to read news and share your view on things.

I did set up a feed reader and I subscribed site Librarian Matter. It will help me in my professional development.

I created account at Library Thing, found some books which I read about Australian History and country of my birth, blogged my findings
